Zabumba.

The Zabumba is a typical Brazilian percussion instrument which looks like a rudimentary bass drum but is played with the hands. It is often used in northeastern rhythms such as the Forró and the Baião.

18x8
Covered - Marfim

16x9
Lacquer - Radica

Unlike the other zabumbas in the market today, Odery´s zabumbas feature tension lugs secured to the shell and are fitted with the same counterhoops used in drumsets. These double tension lugs enable the player to tune each head independently for better tone and consistency.

Plastic grommets allow the shoulder strap to be attached to the instrument with no metal-to-metal contact and avoid unwanted clanks and buzzes during performance. In addition, our zabumbas are available in 16", 18" and 20"diameters and in the same finishes as our drums.
